Terra Nicaragua becomes a Travelife Partner: a new step towards responsible tourism
At Terra Nicaragua, we’ve got some good news to share: we’ve just been awarded Travelife Partner status! This isn’t just a pretty logo to add to our signature: it’s official recognition of our concrete commitment to more sustainable, more ethical, more humane tourism.
But what is Travelife?
Travelife is an international sustainability program for travel agencies and tour operators. It helps companies in the sector to measure, improve and promote their responsible practices. Being a Travelife Partner means that we meet demanding criteria: responsible management of resources, respect for local communities, fair working conditions, and reduction of our environmental impact. It’s proof that our philosophy and conditions are translated into measurable action.
For us, this recognition has a profound meaning. Nicaragua is a country of exceptional natural and human wealth. Our trips are built hand in hand with local communities, craftsmen, guides and committed accommodation providers. Becoming a Travelife Partner means asserting loud and clear that this model – respectful, slow, consistent – is the path we choose to follow.
The journey, not the desitnation
This approach is in line with our philosophy of making travel an encounter, not a commodity. We believe that exploring a country also means getting involved in its preservation. Each itinerary we create seeks to balance the pleasure of the traveler, the benefits for local populations and the protection of the environment.
Where do we go from here?
Of course, we don’t stop there. Partner status is just one step: the next is Travelife Certified, an even more demanding level, with an on-site audit. That’s our new goal.
We also owe this recognition to our entire team of travel designers, Pedro, Sandrine and Daphné, who ensure that every experience is thought through with meaning and respect.
We invite you to celebrate this milestone with us, to continue to travel differently, and to support those who, in the field, bring fairer travel to life.
