A day devoted to sightseeing in Bogotá, including: – Cerro de Monserrate, for a breathtaking view of the capital and surrounding area. Perched at an altitude of 3,152 metres, the Sanctuary (accessible by cable car or funicular) is a place of pilgrimage, particularly popular on religious feast days. – The Candelaria district, Bogotá’s historic and cultural center, which has preserved its authentic colonial atmosphere; along the cobbled streets, you’ll discover colourful facades, beautifully carved wooden balconies and Baroque churches. – The Gold Museum, one of the most dazzling on the continent. Nearly 34,000 pieces of gold are on display, making it the world’s largest collection of pre-Hispanic gold and silverware from the Quimbaya, Taironas, Muiscas and Tolimas civilizations.
– The Botero Foundation, dedicated to Colombian artist Fernando Botero, where his own works (some 100 drawings, paintings and sculptures) are on display, as well as his private collection of no fewer than 85 masterpieces by internationally renowned artists (Renoir, Dali, Chagall, Picasso, Miro, etc.) – Plaza Bolivar, with its imposing buildings (City Hall, Palace of Justice, Cathedral, National Congress, etc.). San Agustin Archaeological Park
Morning visit to San Agustin Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The visit is organized around four main sites: – Mesitas, artificial esplanades housing crypts, figurines and funerary dolmens; – Bosque de la Estatuas, populated by statues representing mostly anthropomorphic male figures, sometimes with feline features; – Fuente de Lavapatas, a religious monument carved into the bed of a river, considered a sacred site reserved for religious ceremonies.
– Alto de Lavapatas: San Agustin’s oldest site (3300 BC), guarded by impressive statues (referring to the Double Self), with a unique view over the entire valley and the various archaeological sites. After lunch, you’ll discover San Agustin’s surroundings on a multi-stage excursion. On the program: – the site of El Tablon with its ethnographic museum, – the site of La Chaquira with its sculpture in the canyon slopes, – the site of Pelota with its statues coated in natural dyes. The coffee region: plantations, roasting & tasting
Transport between Popayan and the coffee region. Visit to a Colombian coffee plantation, whose production can be as complex and sophisticated as wine. City tour on the themes of urban transformation and urban art. By vehicle and on foot, you’ll explore the places that have transformed the city, beginning with a visit to Comuna 13, known as a hotbed of urban violence and Medellin. The arrival of the Metrocable, the construction of a designer library and a hospital, among other things, demonstrate the revival of this district. From Medellin to Cartagena in the Caribbean
Morning at leisure to enjoy the city of Medellin: a stroll through the pedestrian streets of the Carabobo district will allow you to discover different styles of architecture, from the Palacio Nacional to the Basilica of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, before reaching the Plaza Botero, where bronze statues of the famous artist are on display. Visit the Museo Antioquia; housed in an Art Deco building, it is one of Colombia’s most important museums, with a large number of Fernando Botero‘s works, as well as a range of pre-Hispanic, colonial and contemporary art collections. A day’s visit to Cartagena’s main historical and cultural sites: – Convent of La Popa: perched on a hill overlooking the bay, this monastery boasts a lovely patio, a colonial museum and a chapel dedicated to the Virgen de la Candelaria; – Panoramic view from the San Felipe Barajascastle: at the gateway to the colonial city, this is one of the most formidable bastions ever built by the Spanish army. In the afternoon, visit Cartagena’s historic center and main sights. You’ll discover Cartagena’s past and present on foot, visiting the city’s most beautiful monuments such as the Clock Tower and Don Pedro de Heredia. During the tour, you’ll notice the different influences – Romanesque, Moorish, colonial, military, Arab, Spanish and North American – that have shaped Cartagena.

Visit Panama City, flight to San Jose
Free day to enjoy the Panamanian capital at your leisure. For history buffs, we suggest a visit to the remains of Panama La Vieja, the country’s first capital before it was destroyed by the famous pirate Henry Morgan. If you like hiking, immerse yourself in tropical flora and fauna on the trails of the Metropolitan Park, just outside the capital.
Then take a stroll through the seafood market, where you’ll find lobster, tuna and other mouth-watering delicacies from the Caribbean and the Pacific, before discovering the famous colonial district of Casco Antiguo, which plunges you into the country’s historic past, with its typical alleyways and colorful buildings leading to the Place de France. Here you can discover art-deco architecture, the cathedral and visit the Museum of the Interoceanic Canal. Of course, don’t miss watching the boats pass through the Miraflores locks. If time permits, we also recommend a visit to the brand-new « biomuseo » designed by architect Frank Gehry, located in the Amador district. Ascent of Maderas volcanoEarly in the morning, after a hearty breakfast, departure from the hotel for the ascent of Maderas volcano. You’ll pass through different types of vegetation, fully immersed in the luxuriant forest that covers the lower part of the volcano. The volcano is an inactive colossus with an unusual ecosystem, a humid forest with an infinite number of epiphytic plants. Discovering Las IsletasHalf-day trip to discover the Las Isletas archipelago, a group of islands off the coast of Granada. You’ll set off by boat to sail between these islets, where today’s Nicaraguans have established their vacation homes. There are almost 400 basaltic islands, and you’re sure to enjoy excellent views of the proud Mombacho volcano, as well as numerous animal sightings. Discover the Pueblos Blancos, small villages around Masaya renowned for their handicrafts. From pottery to leatherwork to hammocks, the colors of local craftsmanship will fill your eyes! Wander between Catarina and San Juan de Oriente and take a look at these little stores, often set up on the porches of houses. If you wish, you can also stop off to visit a black ceramics workshop, the region’s specialty. Once in Catarina, take in the panoramic view of the Laguna de Apoyo from the belvedere, and walk down the lagoon’s slopes to the El Paso del Tren restaurant halfway up. Afternoon free to enjoy the Laguna de Apoyo, an ancient volcanic crater now filled with fresh water. You can choose to hike, swim, kayak or simply relax in this enchanting setting.
