In the morning, take a tour of Nicaragua’s capital, visiting the historic district and the cathedral. Stop off for lunch at the Mirador de Tiscapa, before heading off to Léon, Nicaragua’s former capital. Follow the road along Lake Managua, and enjoy impressive views of the Momotombo and Momotombito volcanoes. Enter and visit the ruins of León Viejo, a UNESCO World Heritage site since December 2000. León Viejo is one of the oldest Spanish colonial settlements in the Americas, dating back to the 16th century, and today boasts an enormous archaeological heritage.Meet your local guide at the entrance to the Cerro Negro volcano for a discovery tour.Born 150 years ago, it is the most active volcano in Nicaragua, having last erupted in 1999. At an altitude of 725m, it lives up to its name, Black Mountain, with its lunar-like appearance. You’ll reach the summit from where you can observe the crater, then descend the slope on a sandboard.Overnight in a charming hotel in Léon.

Mid-day departure for the Telica volcano, one of the most active in the region,starting with a visit to the hervideros de San Jacinto, an area of hyperactive fumaroles. At the foot of the Telica Volcano, this small village lives at the whim of the colossus. Overnight in tents and dinner on the volcano’s flanks.

At the crack of dawn, you’ll have the chance to visit the crater rim again. The sunrise over the valley and the Maribios chain of volcanoes is breathtaking when the sky is clear.Then it’s back to Leon,where you’llspend the night in a charming hotel.

Early morning departure for a hike through dry tropical forest to the summit of the « Cosiguina » volcano at 872 m.The Cosiguiña volcano is located south of the Gulf of Fonseca, from where it is possible to observe the neighboring volcanoes of El Salvador and Honduras. In 1835, one of the most violent eruptions in history literally decapitated the volcano, which was estimated to be 2,300 m high before the eruption.Overnight in a charming hotel in Léon.
The beaches of Poneloya and las Peñitas
Day at leisure to enjoy the Pacific coast.We recommend a visit to Isla Juan Venado with its spectacular mangroves, where you’ll have the chance to spot numerous birds and crocodiles, and enjoy a heavenly sunset at the end of the day. Later in the day, departure from las Peñitas for Leon, the former capital of Nicaragua.Drive to the town of Granada. We suggest you take a stroll through the Masaya market, one of the most important in the country and renowned for its colorful local handicrafts.You can then visit the village of Catarina , whose main activity is the production of bamboo furniture. Enjoy the view from the mirador over Granada, the Great Lake and its islands, the Apoyo lagoon and the Mombacho volcano. Overnight in a charming hotel in Granada.

Free time to explore GranadaWe suggest you discover this colonial jewel on foot, by horse-drawn carriage or by bicycle.You can visit the city’s various churches, stroll through the colorful market stalls, and sip a fresh juice in the central square.
Discover the archipelago of las Isletas, a group of islands off the coast of Granada. You’ll take a boat out to sail between these islets, where you’ll have an excellent view of the Mombacho volcano, as well as the opportunity to observe numerous animals.Overnight in a charming hotel in Granada

We invite you to discover the wetlands of Volcan Mombacho, which overlooks Granada. It is made up of four volcanic craters, the highest of which rises to 1,345 m. Let’s go for a walk in the heart of this atypical ecosystem along the Puma trail!You’ll have the chance to relax at the Laguna de Apoyo, where you can kayak, swim and enjoy the calm of this former volcanic crater, now filled with fresh water. Granada - Ometepe
Depart Granada this morning and drive to the port of San Jorge , where you’ll take the ferry to the town of Moyogalpa on the island of Ometepe.We suggest you take a stroll along the Charco Verde lagoon and Lake Nicaragua. You’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Concepcion volcano, the Maderas volcano, howler monkeys and all kinds of birds. Overnight in a community

Early in the morning, after a hearty breakfast, departure for the ascent of the Maderas volcano. You’ll pass through different types of vegetation, fully immersed in the lush forest that covers the lower part of the volcano , before relaxing in the natural waters of Ojo de Agua. An underground river originating from the Maderas volcano and emerging in two basins. There’s nothing like a good swim and a cocktail to cool you down in these temperatures!Overnight in a community
Ometepe Island
Your guide will take you kayaking on the Rio Istian, a special ecosystem located between the island’s two volcanoes. You’ll start your trip by paddling out onto Nicaragua’s largest lake to observe the various properties that litter the shoreline.Then you’ll approach the isthmus and enter a small stream where the vegetation is luxuriant. On theway back, you’ll be surrounded by two majestic volcanoes and enjoy a panoramic view of the lake.You’ll take the ferry from the small port of Moyogalpa and cross Lake Nicaragua to San Jorge, then head for Managua.
